Create a project (or pick an existing one)
In the API library, search for
Map Tiles API
and enable it
Go to
Credentials → Create Credentials → API key
(Optional) Restrict the key to "Map Tiles API" and your domain
Paste the key above — free tier covers 10,000 requests/month
Your key is stored only in this browser (localStorage).
